Howdy!  Let me introduce myself...I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist and I provide Dyslexia therapy to Kinder through 5th grade students here at Curtis.  In WISD, we use Take Flight:  A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia developed by Scottish Rite for Children as our main instructional resource.  In using a multisensory approach to teaching reading and writing we see great successes with our dyslexic students.  I greatly enjoy serving our students and parents here in WISD!

 

Prior to teaching Dyslexia therapy I was a reading interventionist as well as a 3rd grade classroom teacher for many years in Colorado, Kansas, and multiple cities in Texas.  I have three children.  We enjoy watching movies, hanging out with our family, swimming, hiking, building Lego sets and playing with our goldendoodle.
